I have a new IPS monitor (LG 22MP55HQ)
(Quick summary: not bad :) )
Didn't find linux monitor test program.
I made 5 simple HD size ( 1920 × 1080) pictures.
Click on pictures and press alt+mouse scroll up until picture zoom to full screen.
Or save pictures (right click above picture and choose save as...)
and see picture in full screen in your picture viewer.
